New Centre Director, New Approach: Meet Keely at Mini Masterminds Box Hill

A new chapter has begun at Mini Masterminds Box Hill, as we have recently welcomed our new Centre Director, Keely.

With a passion for early childhood education and more than a decade of industry experience, Keely has been working on making positive improvements to our Box Hill daycare centre.

As these positive changes continue to take place, Keely is excited to build on the strengths of the existing team and create an even more welcoming experience for the Box Hill child care community.

A new approach at Box Hill  daycare built on relationships

At the heart of Keely’s leadership of her Box Hill child care centre is a simple belief: meaningful relationships make a lasting difference.

“What makes Mini Masterminds Box Hill special is the genuine care and growing relationships that educators build with the children,” Keely explains. “You can see the warmth, patience and dedication they bring to their interactions, helping children and families feel safe, valued and supported.”

This relationship-focused approach extends beyond the classroom. Keely is committed to ensuring families feel comfortable communicating with the team, sharing their expectations and discussing their child’s individual needs.

By creating opportunities for open conversations and collaboration, she wants every family to feel confident that their child is known and supported throughout their early learning journey.

For Keely, this is an ongoing commitment to building trust and ensuring the Mini Masterminds Box Hill childcare centre continues to grow alongside the children and families it serves.

A passion for early learning that has shaped her leadership

Keely began her career in early childhood education in 2013 as a trainee. Since then, she has completed her Diploma, progressed into the role of Educational Leader and developed a strong passion for supporting children, families and fellow educators. For these reasons alone, we knew she would be a great addition to our Box Hill child care centre.

Her experience as an Educational Leader also helped her recognise the broader impact of supporting educators, encouraging professional development and creating opportunities for positive change.

“Seeing others grow in confidence and develop their own passion for early learning has become one of the most rewarding parts of my journey,” she shares.

Now, as Centre Director at Mini Masterminds Childcare Box Hill, Keely brings this experience into her leadership, with a focus on building strong partnerships with families and empowering her team to provide meaningful learning experiences.

Empowering educators to grow and thrive

One of the key changes Keely is focused on is creating an environment where educators feel confident in their roles, and comfortable contribute their ideas, and make positive changes.

Through collaborative planning, regular meetings and reflective discussions, Keely is encouraging educators to share ideas, review their practices and work towards clear goals for their rooms from nursery to preschool.

Keely is already excited to see the positive changes taking place across the centre, including stronger team engagement, developing relationships with families and educators making improvements to their everyday practices.

Putting Box Hill families at the heart of the daycare centre

Keely wants parents and carers to feel reassured from the moment they walk through the doors at Mini Masterminds Childcare Box Hill, that their child is surrounded by educators who genuinely care about their wellbeing.

“I hope every family who walks through the doors of Mini Masterminds Childcare Box Hill feels a genuine sense of trust, belonging and reassurance,” Keely says.

“I want families to see their children walk in with a smile, feel comfortable throughout the day and leave feeling content, confident and excited to share their experiences.”

By building these strong partnerships, the Box Hill child care team can work collaboratively with families to create a supportive experience that helps every child feel secure and valued.

Building on success and embracing continuous improvement

The Mini Masterminds Childcare Box Hill team recently achieved a Meeting National Quality Standard rating in its Assessment and Rating, recognising the collective effort and dedication of the educators.

For Keely, this achievement is an important milestone and a source of motivation for the team to continue improving.

“Receiving our Assessment and Rating results was an incredibly rewarding moment for our team,” she explains. “This achievement reflects the positive impact of our collective efforts, dedication and commitment to continuous improvement.”

While celebrating this result, Keely remains focused on what comes next. She wants to build on the team’s strengths, continue developing educator practices and ensure that every improvement contributes to positive outcomes for children and families.

The positive feedback the centre has received has also been encouraging, reinforcing that the changes taking place are being noticed by the community.

A new chapter for Mini Masterminds Childcare Box Hill

As Keely continues to lead the Box Hill team, her vision is to create a centre where children look forward to coming each day, families feel confident and educators feel supported in their work.

With a renewed focus on relationships, educator development and continuous improvement, Mini Masterminds Box Hill is embracing a new chapter under Keely’s leadership, while continuing to build on its commitment to providing a safe, supportive and engaging early learning environment.
