At Mini Masterminds, we’ve incorporated a stimulating cooking class that encourages our children to experiment in the kitchen while learning about basic cooking techniques and making smart food choices. In addition to this, our early learning centre has hands-on cooking lessons to in-still kitchen safety, food preparation and proper food handling practices in our children.

Mini Chefs cooking classes educate children about healthy choices, where food comes from, early maths and science concepts, as well as, kitchen safety, food preparation and proper food handling practises.

Our children learn how to grow, cook and eat their own vegetables. These hands-on experiences help children develop healthy eating habits and complement other learning areas, such as math, science, language, social development, cooperation, and respect for culture.

Learning & Development

From counting the amount of eggs, choosing and recognising the coloured dyes, to learning simple additions through the recipe measurements. Teaching your child to cook at an early age assists your child in developing fundamental math, science, language skills in a fun, practical and visual manner.

Makes Meal Times Fuss Free

Children are notoriously picky eaters, and bringing them into the kitchen to cook can help get them to open up to new tastes. We use this opportunity to learn (and taste) the new ingredients and how they are a good choice for our growing bodies.

Boosts Literacy and Comprehension Skills

Cooking is one of the most practical ways to show that reading offers tangible results. Children are able to apply and further strengthen their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in our mini-chefs program. We use kid-friendly step-by-step instructions with visual cues to get to a finished result.

Cultural Enrichment

Learning new cultural cuisines creates a deeper understanding of and appreciation for
humanity and culture, and we love turning our cooking classes into a fun and interactive history lesson.
